How Are You Lenting?

I asked the Ora writers how they're moving closer to God in this season of stripping away worldly things so we can obtain the things of eternity. We'd love to hear in the comments section how you're Lenting this year!

1. What's your Lenten focus for this year (Prayer, fasting, almsgiving)?

My Lenten focus this year seems to be about learning to listen to His still, small voice. I’m spending time in the Word, using several daily reading plans with small groups of friends through an online app.  

2. How are you implementing your prayer? 

I begin my morning with coffee, my Bible app, and quieting myself to really hear what God is saying through the readings and the discussion that follows. I also meet weekly with a group of amazing women to pray, and have been further blessed to be serving as an Alpha team member. Every day presents an opportunity to go further into His Word and listen!

3. Generally speaking, what is your favourite way to pray?

Generally speaking, my favourite way to pray is to talk God’s ear off and tell Him exactly what He might want to do! So, fasting from that this Lent and surrendering myself to listen mode is a wonderful growth opportunity. I also love to praise Him with music, using the beauty of other’s words to pray.
